DURHAM, NC--Funeral services for Bertha "Bert" Payne, age 63, of Durham, NC, formerly of Louisburg, NC, who died on Friday, September 6, 2024, will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, September 14, from the Ambassadors For Christ Ministry in Louisburg with Pastor Jamaal Brodie officiating.
Born September 10, 1960, Bertha is survived by her husband, Melvin Payne Sr. of the home; one son, Melvin Payne Jr. (Sasharae) of Durham, NC; one daughter, Felicia Payne Roper of Durham, NC; six sisters, Phyllis Perry, Bonnie Foster and Isabel Perry all of Durham, NC, Cora Fogg (Christopher), Lynette Perry and Mary Perry, all of Louisburg, NC; four brothers, Josephus Perry (Pat) of Hyattsville, MD, Timothy Perry (Sandra) of Durham, NC, James Perry (Vera) of Columbus, GA, Lafayette Perry of Durham, NC; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
