YOUNGSVILLE, NC--Funeral services for Johnnie "Wayne" Bumpers, age 67, who died on Friday, November 15, 2024, will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, November 23, from the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Youngsville with Pastor Larry M. Neal, II officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Church Cemetery.
Born May 3, 1957, he is survived by his wife, Rita Kearney Bumpers of the home; one daughter, Minister Christie Cheatham (Minister Lewis) of Greensboro, NC; two sons, Curtis Bumpers of Raleigh, NC, Brian Bumpers (Bernita) of Youngsville, NC; one sister, Diane Collins (Richard) of Louisburg, NC; five brothers, William Bumpers of Kittrell, NC, Samuel Cooke (Fannie), Ronnie Cooke (Michelle) and Adelle Cooke (Billette), all of Franklinton, NC, Johnnie Cooke (Delores) of Oxford, NC; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 - 7 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home.
