CASTALIA, NC--Alton Rex Murphy Sr., 81, of Castalia, NC died at his home December 11, 2024.
Born on October 18, 1943, Rex was the son of the late Baldy and Daphine Murphy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Sandra; his children, Amy Keith (Johnny) and Alton Murphy (Misty); three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He also leaves behind his siblings Carolyn (Leonard) Cannady, Patty Rust, Bobby Murphy, and Jerry (Linda) Murphy, along with many nieces and nephews.
A service in celebration of Rex's life was held Sunday, December 15, at 2 p.m. at Red Bud Baptist Church. The family received friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Red Bud Baptist Church.
