JOHNNY A. McGHEE
June 9, 1938 - January 17, 2025

LOUISBURG, NC -- Johnny Albert McGhee, 86, of Louisburg, passed away on Friday morning, January 17, 2025, at Duke Hospital. He is preceded in death by his mother, Faustina McGhee Lester.

Johnny served in the United States Air Force for several years. After his service, he came home and worked for many years as a truck driver.

A funeral service was held Monday, January 20, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Plank Chapel United Methodist Church. Visitation followed the service in the church fellowship hall. A private burial will be held at a later time.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donald Rose McGhee, of Louisburg; sister Ernestine Swearingen and husband Len, of Louisburg; sisters-in-law Ruth Roland and Grace Bonvik; special friends, the Alford family; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Plank Chapel Hospitality Fund, attn: Patricia Edwards, 983 Weldon Rd. Henderson, NC 27537.
