VIRGIL A. TRACY
November 22, 1936 – June 30, 2008
LOUISBURG – Virgil Aaron Tracy, 71, of Louisburg, died Monday afternoon.

Virgil was a son of the late Herman Clifford and Flossie Grooms Tracy and was preceded in death by his sister, Wyvonne Freeman. He was a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corps.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Melvin McGriff officiating. Burial will follow at Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Virgil is survived by his fiancé, Teresa Rhodes and her children, Amanda Edwards and Jonathan Rhodes, all of Louisburg; daughters, Toby Tracy and husband Frank Schneider of Wilson, Elizabeth A. Jones and husband Tom of Westminster, MD, Amy Bullock and husband Huey of Charlotte, Natalie Tracy of Charlotte; sisters, Virginia Smith of Woodstock, Canada, Clarice Tracy of Cincinnati, OH, Ruth Little of Goshen, OH; brother, Bill Tracy of Bowling Green, OH; grandchildren, Jacob Bullock, Abigail Bullock and Lois Jones.

The family will receive friends 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg.
