FRANKLINTON - Julie M. Helchel Battes, 61, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 in Louisburg. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Nesbitt Sr. and Betty Nesbitt.
Surviving: daughters, Jennifer Orbik (Phillip) of Raleigh, Michelle Battes of Franklinton, Cheryl Kratz of Wake Forest; sons, Billy Battes of Franklinton, Randy Helchel of Anderson, Ind.; brothers, Gordon Nesbitt Jr. and Hans Nesbitt, both of California; and 12 grandchildren.
Arrangements being handled by Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids.
