Franklin County commissioners denied a rezoning request that had pitted Lake Royale squarely against a Raleigh developer.
Developer Tim Supernaw had proposed to buy nearly 10 acres of lake-front property from Art Alexander with plans of erecting a 68-unit multifamily development, but on Monday night, after listening to a standing-room only crowd of Lake residents opposed to the project, commissioners denied the request.
